Separation of God and State

Is there a distinction to be made between the separation of church and state vs. the separation of God and state?

Intelligent Design in Public School Curriculums:

I can see arguements on both sides. I think it's important to separate church from state, but I don't like to hear people preaching atheism in public schools either.
What do you think?

Well, separation of Church and State is one thing. What I can't make any sense of is how so many intelligent people take a false "theory" like evolution so blindly and wholeheartedly and are not open to looking at evidence and Truth! The information our children will be taught in the schools in the coming years is frightening to think about. The world is going downhill fast my friend and soon, the very mention of Jesus Christ will be illegal!

Please stop equating evolution and atheism. Although I learned evolution in school, I was never taught atheism. I am tired of being told that I am an atheist because I believe in evolution. I am both a Christian and a believer in evolution. I see no contradiction.
